Master of Science in Nursing Overview
If you hold a bachelor of science degree in another discipline and are looking for a career change that will allow you to make a difference, apply to the master of science in nursing, direct entry (MSN-DE) program at the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) at Alliant. With this degree you can build on your existing education and experience to prepare to sit for the NCLEX exam to earn your license as a registered nurse (RN) in Arizona. Our Direct Entry MSN students are trained for nursing leadership in various healthcare settings. The Direct Entry MSN program is taught over six semesters and takes two years to complete, giving you time to assimilate knowledge and gain valuable, hands-on clinical experience.
Nursing can be a flexible job choice with opportunities to meet and work with all kinds of people. Some nursing care roles offer options for travel and part-time or full-time work, and jobs can be found in organizations from hospitals and clinics to schools, surgery centers, and more. An MSN degree provides a high level of knowledge and skills, leadership opportunities, and offers an accelerated path to other advanced certifications.

Degree Information
The SNHS offers new and innovative nursing programs that take advantage of the latest technologies in patient care. When you begin your nursing practice program, you’ll receive an iPad Air that is pre-loaded with a widely-used nursing app, much like what you will use as a nurse in the field. The tablet is loaded with all the textbooks and other study materials you’ll need to complete the program.
So that you fully understand the concepts and skills taught throughout your program, rather than extensive memorization, you’ll learn to think critically and use clinical reasoning on the job. As a nurse, you’ll also learn to collaborate with professionals in other nursing careers and healthcare providers to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Accreditation
The Master of Science in Nursing - Direct Entry program at Alliant International School of Nursing & Health Sciences is pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
